Saturday July 31st, 10:00am - Noon. Different Drum & Friends at the Hillsborough Farmers Market CAUTION! New sounds are around the bend, slow down and give a listen! The farmers market is located off of Hwy 86 in the Home Depot parking lot.
Thursday August 5th, 6:30pm - 8:30pm. Open mic at Weaver Street market in Hillsborough. Alex & Li-Lan will be hosting and joined by other members of Different Drum. The first hour and a half is open mic. Musicians, poets, or anyone who wants to share a few songs should come by 6:00 and sign up. I am available to accompany as well.
August 28th 10:00am. Bi-lingual music and stories with Michel Barbachan (from Lima, Peru) and Señor Blanco (from the Island). Durham County Library's Main Branch.
Mark your Calendars! Different Drum house concert Sunday Sept. 12th. This will be an afternoon event. Tickets go on sale in August. Limited seating.
Sunday October 3rd, 2pm - 4:30pm. Different Drum trio performs at the 25th International Festival Of Raleigh.

June 26th noon - 2pm: The Different Drum Trio will be performing at Chatham Marketplace in Pittsboro in conjunction with their National Pollinator Week Celebration. They have a great program planned for all ages - including beekeeping demos, garden tours, a kids' tent and "Bee TV". Sit out on the lawn, enjoy a 'pollenator-friendly' lunch from Chatham Marketplace and music from Africa and the Americas by Different Drum!

That same day the Different Drum trio will be performing at Noon for the Museum of Life and Science's annual Butterfly Bash. A fun event for children of all ages. For this show Señor Blanco will be leaving his band to play without him as he picks up master percussionist Osie Appiagyei and heads to Fayetteville's Lake Rim Park for an Art Attach Traveling Festival. Alex & Osie will be sharing music and stories from West Africa from 1:15 - 3:30 pm.
Saturday & Sunday, May 15th & 16th - Make plans now to attend the fifth annual "Art On The Vine" two-day art and wine extravaganza at the beautiful Winery at Iron Gate Farm. Discover award winning, locally produced wine coupled with original art from some of the areas most talented and creative artists. The Different Drum 5-piece Afro/Latin ensemble performs from 12:00 - 3:00 pm on Saturday and 3:00- 6:00 pm on Sunday. The Winery at Iron Gate Farm is located at 2540 Lynch Rd. Mebane, NC. Admission is $5.

April 17th 1:00 – 5:00 Weaver Street Market wine show in Hillsborough. Experience a great selection of wines and an eclectic blend of Different Drum's Afro/Latin sound to add to the atmosphere.
April 10th 7:30 pm. Silent Dayze Music presents: Different Drum spring house concert. This is a special community event with music, dancing and Haitian/French cuisine by La Chinita's kitchen. Tickets are on sale $10 in advance or $15 at the door. For more information call (919) 491-5089.
March 27th 10:00 – 10:45 am - Bi-Lingual music and stories with La Chinita and Señor Blanco at the main branch of the Durham Public Library. This event will happen every 4th Saturday from March through June.
Saturday November 7th (7pm) - Different Drum house concert featuring a 30-year retrospective of original compositions by A. Weiss. Featuring Lisa Lindsay on alto sax, Brian Pearl on bass and La Chinita on congas & percussion. The concert will be held at Silent Dayze Studio, 706 Lakeview Road Durham, NC 27712. Advance tickets are $8 and are available at One World Market (Ninth St. in Durham) and directly from Alex. Day of show tickets are $12 (under 12 and over 70 are free!). This is a community event with international Cuisine provided by "La Chinita's Kitchen". Eating, listening & dancing through the night…BYOB. Saturday October 10th (1pm - 5pm) - The Different Drum Trio will be returning to Weaver St. Market in Carrboro as the featured entertainment for the Market's fall wine tasting event. A laid back atmosphere to sample wine and music. Excellent prices on wines and Cd's!
Sunday October 11th (3 - 4:15pm) - Catch Different Drum Trio at the Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival! This is a three day festival (starts Friday) of music, dancing, food, crafts, and fun in the sun (or mud)!
Saturday October 3rd (10:30am-12:30pm) - The Different Drum trio will be performing at the 24th International Festival of Raleigh, at the Raleigh Convention Center.
