Saturday February 25th, 10:30am - 11:15am.
Alex Weiss & friends at the Downtown Durham Library. This is an ongoing monthly event of Latin music and bi lingual stories recommended for children between the ages of four and ninety four. Joining Alex this month will be Pavelid Castañeda a distinguished Colombian harpist.

Saturday February 25th, 7pm - 10pm. Different Drum 4-piece ensemble perform at Old Havana Sandwich Shop. Location: 310 E. Main Street in Durham. This is a relatively new place with that rich Cuban feel. It will be our first time performing there. Come join us!

Saturday December 17th, 10:30am - 11:15am. Downtown Durham Library - The Different Drum trio perform a holiday special incorporating Christmas/Kwanzaa & Chanukah with Music and stories from Africa & the Americas. **This performance is on the 3rd Saturday due to the Christmas holiday.

Tuesday Dec. 6th, 10:00 - 11:00 am. Alex appears on WCOM Carborro Community radio with Claudio on Claudio's Speak Easy. Alex will talk about their Himalayan trek, share music of Napal as well as his own alternative Christmas cd.

Tuesday November 22nd, 7pm. Alex & Li-Lan perform for Secu Family House (private event affiliated with UNC Hospital).

Saturday November 19th, 10:30am - 11:15am. Alex Weiss & friends share Latin American music and stories at the Downtown Durham Library. Fun for children from 4 to 94! **This performance is on the 3rd Saturday due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Saturday October 29th, 11am - 2p. Catch the Different Drum Trio, sans Sr Blanco, at Primary Colors in Durham for their Halloween celebration.

September 30th, 5:00pm – 5:45 pm. Li-lan and Alex perform International music & stories at Health Touch's Open House. This is where Li-Lan has her acupuncture practice; it is a cooperative of complimentary health practitioners www.healthtouchnc.com.

Saturday October 1st, 10:00am - 11:30am. The Different Drum quartet will perform at the International Festival of Raleigh. Bring your family for a celebration of music, food and culture from around the globe!

Tuesday July 19th, 10:00am - 11:00am. Alex appears on WCOM, Carrboro's community radio. He will be on Claudio's Speakeasy. A talk show with music, whit, commentary, and Claudio's theatrical spontaneity.

Thursday July 21st, 6:00pm - 8:00 pm. Alex Weiss & Different Drum 4-piece ensemble perform After Hours on the lawn at Weaver Street Market in Carrboro.

Saturday July 23rd, 3:00pm - ?? (concert at 5:00). The Adventures of Alex Weiss & Different Drum CD release celebration and Himalayan Trek Benefit. Different Drum 5-piece ensemble with International cuisine provided by: Mediterranean Deli, La Chinita's Kitchen, and Four Leaf Farm. Suggested donation: $15. with $30. donation receive a CD and 2012 calendar with photos and commentary of our Himalayan trek.

Thursday July 14th, 6:00pm - 8:15 pm. Different Drum trio hosts open mic at Weaver Street Market in Hillsborough. Musicians, poets, storytellers & good listeners welcome.

Saturday July 16th, 8:30 – 9:00 am. La chinita & Señor Blanco will be on WNCU Radio with Pat Murray/Radio Skywriter, talking about our travels and the new CD release `The Adventures of Alex Weiss & Different Drum.

Saturday July 16th, 10:00am - Noon. Different Drum trio at the Hillsborough Farmers Market, located in Home Depot parking lot.

Saturday June 25th, 10:30am. Alex Weiss & friends share Latin American music and stories, at the Downtown Durham Library. An ongoing monthly event, always fun, always different and free to the public.

Friday May 27th. World Beat Music Fest at Cat's Cradle. A wonderful night of music featuring three diverse and unique bands:
9:15-10:15 Diali Cissokho - West African style trio, featuring the 21 string Kora
10:30-11:30 Different Drum the 4-piece Afro/Latin ensemble
11:45-1:00am dub Addis - Reggae with those irresistible African roots.
Doors open @ 9:00. Tickets are $8.00 in advance $10 the day of event. Wow What a deal!

Saturday May 21st, Noon – 3:00 pm. Different Drum 5-Piece ensemble performs at the North Carolina Museum of Life and Science's Magic Wings Festival. Children's events and fun for everybody!

April 28th – Private School performance in Durham

April 30th 10:30 – 11:30am. Different Drum 4-piece ensemble, The Dia Festival (a multi-cultural festival) at the downtown Durham County Library.

April 14th 7:00 – 9:00pm. Different Drum Trio at Guglhupf, 2706 Chapel Hill Blvd. Durham. The food is excellent, the weather should be nice and they have a great outdoor patio, where music & food mingle.

April 16th 10:30am at the downtown Durham County Library featuring bi lingual music and stories with Alex Weiss & friends. Featuring Chilean singer Pablo Valencia.

April 16th 1:00 – 5:00pm. Different Drum trio at the Weaver Street Wine show, where world rhythms and original music blend with unique wines. Location: Weaver St Market on Churton Street in Hillsborough.
